Finance Minister Marcel Bolos will attend the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) meeting in Luxembourg on Tuesday, according to ministry representatives.
According to information on the website of the European Council, among the important items on the agenda are: the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the European semester, international meetings, financing the fight against climate change, etc.
As regards the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, the ministers will take stock of the implementation of the mechanism and the Council will seek to adopt implementing decisions approving amended recovery and resilience plans presented by some member states.
On Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, ministers will be briefed on the current state of play regarding the economic and financial impact of this aggression.
Also during the meeting, the Council will exchange views on lessons learned from the 2024 European Semester cycle.
The Council and the Commission will brief ministers on the main outcomes of the G20 meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors, which took place on July 25-26, 2024.
