State allowances for children to increase from January 1, 2025 by 10.4%

State allowances for children will increase, from January 1, 2025, by 10.4%, in accordance with the legal provisions in force, informs the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity (MMSS).

According to the institution’s Facebook page, allowances will be increased from 719 RON to 794 RON for children under two years old or with disabilities and from 292 RON to 323 RON for children over two years old.

„The 3.6 million children, as well as young people attending high schools and vocational schools, will receive increased state allowances. The necessary funds come from the budget of the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity, and the payments are managed by the National Agency for Payments and Social Inspection,” said Simona Bucura Oprescu, Minister of Labor and Social Solidarity, quoted in the press release.

State allowances for children also increased in January 2024, by 13.8%.

In August of this year, 3,478,329 beneficiaries of state allowances for children were registered, most of them from Bucharest (358,943) and from the counties of Iasi (195,033), Suceava (131,655), Constanta (121,124), Bacau (119,483) ) and Cluj (119,331), according to the data of the National Agency for Payments and Social Inspection (ANPIS).
