PM Ciolacu addresses the six milestones Romania has failed to meet so far under Resilience Plan

Published on

PSD (Social Democratic Party) leader Marcel Ciolacu on Tuesday evening told the Liberal leader, Nicolae Ciuca, who had asked him about the money Romania risks to lose under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, that „what the Commission invoked are things that happened during your mandate.”

He also told Nicolae Ciuca, in a message he wrote on his Facebook page, that he is working „very well” both with the minister Sebastian Burduja to „correct all the misfortunes done in the energy companies by the former minister Virgil Popescu,” and with the „SGG [the General Secretariate of the Government – editor’s note] led by the PNL” in order to „resume the procedures at AMEPIP [Agency for Monitoring and Evaluation of the Performance of Public Enterprises] as soon as possible.”

„I work very well with everyone, Mr. Ciuca, to correct what went wrong and not lose a single euro from the PNRR. There is only one thing left, which we must decide together in the coalition: which is the best decision for the small entrepreneurs, which you claim to support. We need a clear political decision regarding the threshold for the microenterprises. That threshold that the right wing government headed by the leader of the National Liberal Party introduced with the PNRR at the time: we have a choice between lowering the threshold for microenterprises and taking around 300 million euros or giving up the money and keeping the current amount of 500 thousand euros,” Marcel Ciolacu told Nicolae Ciuca.

The prime minister’s response on the social network came after the PNL president, Nicolae Ciuca, requested Marcel Ciolacu „to urgently explain what he will do so that Romania does not lose the approximately 1.1 billion euros under the PNRR” for failing to meet certain milestones.
