National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) head Alexandru Bociu initialed the sanitary and veterinary certificates necessary to start exporting sheep, cattle and goat carcasses, as well as honey, milk and dairy products to the Kingdom of Morocco, the institution announced in a press release.

„Yesterday, October 16, 2024, during the working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, the delegation of the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA), led by the President Alexandru Bociu, took a decisive step in the diversification of Romanian exports. (…) This achievement is fruit of the negotiations carried out by ANSVSA specialists ever since 2017 and represents a significant progress in the trade relations between Romania and the Kingdom of Morocco,” the release reads.

According to the source, another important objective achieved was the resumption of sheep exports to the Kingdom of Morocco.

The delegation was organised in the framework of a public-private partnership and Romanian sheep breeders had the opportunity to meet with Moroccan businessmen, thus contributing to the strengthening of economic and trade relations and to the increase of live animal exports.

„Through its initiatives, ANSVSA creates new opportunities for Romanian producers, diversifying exports to the Kingdom of Morocco. This gives farmers the chance to capitalise on top-quality products on this market, thus reinforcing Romania’s status as a significant player in agriculture and the food industry,” ANSVSA president Alexandru Bociu was quoted as saying in the press release.
