Romanian Army to conduct new military exercises with armoured equipment in Sfantu Gheorghe

Published on

Soldiers of the Romanian land forces will carry out tactical exercises with armoured equipment this week at the Sfantu Gheorghe shooting range, according to the leadership of the 22nd Ciresoaia Mountain Battalion.

The exercises are designed to train the military on forested mountainous terrain.

„Between October 21-25, 2024, the Land Forces will carry out tactical exercises with troops and armoured equipment at the Pais Training Range in the city of Sfantu Gheorghe. The objective of these exercises is to train the military and validate the techniques, tactics and procedures in the execution of military actions in forested mountainous terrain.”

Armoured forces and vehicles that will participate in the training will transit through the counties of Braila, Buzau and Covasna, using training ammunition.

Both last year and this year, several training exercises took place in Covasna County, attended by both Romanian and other NATO ground and air troops.

Last month, two exercises with armoured equipment took place, the first of which was attended by foreign soldiers deployed in Romania.
