Romania’s President Klaus Iohannis is paying an official visit to Montenegro today at the invitation of his Montenegrin counterpart Jakov Milatovic.
According to the Romanian Presidential Administration, the official visit is the first at the level of head of state since the establishment of diplomatic ties, a highlight at bilateral level taking place amid a special dynamic, both of the political-diplomatic and sectoral dialogue.
Iohannis will be welcomed by Milatovic at the official residence in Cetinje.
The political consultations between the two presidents will focus on defence political and diplomatic cooperation, support for Montenegro’s European journey, the main regional and global security challenges.
As far as sectoral areas of cooperation are concerned, the existing opportunities for increasing investment and trade, boosting contacts in the areas of energy, tourism, agriculture, home affairs, research, education and culture will be addressed.
