Gov’t to extend deadline for implementing QR code printing on tax receipts

Published on

The government is expected today to approve extending the deadline in case of the mandate on companies to use the new technology that prints QR code information on receipts, according to Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.

„We have taken over the requests of the business community and in the case of the obligation of companies to use product vending machines and electronic cash registers linked to the Tax Authority’s servers. It is a new technology that prints QR code information on receipts. It is obvious that many SME business operators are not ready yet, so we have extended the deadline until September 1, 2025,” Ciolacu said at the beginning of the government meeting.
