PM Ciolacu: Next year, Romanians will pay the same taxes on property

The Government will postpone until January 1, 2026, the enforcement of the new taxable value for buildings calculation method, based on the value resulted from market studies, which means that next year the value of property taxes remains the same, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced on Wednesday.

„We have important pieces of news in the taxation area, and with all due respect, these pieces of news are good, not bad! Next year, Romanians will pay the same taxes on property! We have postponed until January 1, 2026 the enforcement of the new calculation method for the taxable value for buildings, based on market studies. Until then, the Finance Ministry must build a specialist structure and the Cadastral Survey Agency has the obligation to supply these data to this structure,” Ciolacu said in the beginning of the Government weekly meeting.
