PM Ciolacu: We extend by five substances list of drugs and drug precursors under national control

Published on

The Government will approve, at its meeting on Wednesday, the extension by five substances of the list of drugs and drug precursors under national control, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced.

He congratulated Interior Minister Catalin Predoiu for the fact that the police „continue to hit hard” drug trafficking networks. At the same time, he stressed the importance of care given to victims of drug use.

„Protecting our children from drug abuse has become a national priority. We are expanding the list of drugs and drug precursors under national control by five narcotic and psychotropic substances. In parallel, as we have all seen, the police continue to hit hard at trafficking networks. This is, in fact, the road on which we need to continue and I congratulate the deputy prime minister. Obviously, we also need the state to start taking care of drug victims and to give back to them, mostly young people, the chance of a normal life,” Ciolacu said at the beginning of the government meeting.
