Long-term investments, in a diversified portfolio, are the ones we recommend, the CEO of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), Adrian Tanase told a Tuesday’s specialist debate.
„It is very important to talk about investment funds. These products facilitate investment in the capital market. Long-term investment is the one that we recommend, in a diversified portfolio. There is also another type of investment in the capital market, but we do not make a recommendation here, because it is very difficult to make a recommendation. Perhaps many of you would have a short-term profit expectation. We are not specialists in such short-term recommendations. The ability to invest in the short term must be acquired by oneself, specializing in the trade of being a specialized investor. We here recommend a strategy through the open-end investment fund industry, to which anyone has access, even those who do not have a financial background”, said Tanase.
The head of the BVB pointed out, once again, the idea that Romania does not yet have that culture of investment in the stock market.
„Unfortunately we don’t have this culture of investing in the stock market. I hope you realize while this means. I realized after losing 25 years of my active life and not doing this, to put my money to work. (…) The most accessible and natural products are the open-ended investment funds. do it voluntarily, through the open investment funds”, emphasized Adrian Tanase.
BVB and the Association of Fund Managers (AAF) organized on Tuesday a debate about the performance of investment funds at the end of the third quarter of 2024, and what are the prospects for 2025.
