A total of 4,706,791 pensioners were registered in Romania in October 2024, which is 28,077 fewer compared to the previous month, and the average pension was 2,735 lei, according to data centralised by the National House of Public Pensions (CNPP).

The total value of pension rights due amounted to 12.875 billion lei.

According to CNPP statistics, of the total number of pensioners in the public pension system, 3,782,175 people had retired at the legal age, including 2,174,353 women, with an average pension of 3,051 lei.

In October 2024, 4,420 people received early retirement pensions (average pension worth 3,910 lei), 86,975 people received partial early retirement pensions (average pension 2,736 lei), and 388,836 people received disability pensions (average pension 1,123 lei), of which 44,302 were for first-degree disability (average pension 972 lei).

In the same month, survivor’s pensions were granted to 444,277 people (average pension 1,448 lei), while 108 pensioners received social assistance (average of 540 lei).
