The water content in the winter wheat crop will be within satisfactory limits, close to optimal and even optimal in most of Romania, with low values of the soil water reserve being recorded in parts of Oltenia and Muntenia, reveals the agrometeorological forecast prepared by the National Weather Administration (ANM) for November 9 – 15, 2024.
The soil moisture reserve will present low and particularly low values (moderate and strong soil drought) on extensive agricultural areas in Oltenia, locally in the west, south-west and south of Muntenia.
According to the ANM, seasonal agricultural works (clearing agricultural areas from plant debris, ploughing, fertilizing, etc.) will be carried out in good conditions, on most agricultural areas.
From a meteorological point of view, between November 9 and 15, 2024, an overall normal weather will prevail in all crop areas.
The average daytime air temperature will be between zero and 11 degrees Celsius, which is close to the multiannual averages, in almost all agricultural regions. The highs will be between 4 and 14 degrees Celsius in most of the country, and the lows between -4 and 8 degrees Celsius in the whole country, with lower values in the northern and central depressions, where there will be mist and frost on the ground.
At the same time, the average diurnal temperature of the soil at a depth of ten centimetres will oscillate between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius in the plain areas, optimal limits for the germination, emergence and foliation processes of the autumn species sown so far.
