Zelensky signs decree refusing negotiations with Putin

Published on

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on Tuesday officially declaring as impossible the prospect of any negotiations between Kyiv and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, but leaving the door open for talks with Russia, according to Reuters, Agerpres reads.

The decree formalizes comments made by Zelensky on Friday after the Russian president proclaimed four occupied Ukrainian regions part of Russia, in what Kiev and the West said was an illegitimate farce.

„He (Putin) does not know what dignity and honesty are. Therefore, we are willing to have a dialogue with Russia, but with another Russian president’, Zelenski said on Friday.
