Child rapists, traffickers of minors or people who have committed acts of child pornography will not have the right to vote, non-affiliated Deputy Catalin Tenita, a member of REPER announced, according to Agerpres.
Tenita is a co-initiator of the draft law that prohibits persons who have committed crimes against minors from running for public office, which received a favorable report in the Administration Commission of the Chamber of Deputies.
The law proposal entered the debate of the legal committee, in order for this modification to be approved, there already being a favorable preliminary report.
After this step, the draft law submitted a year ago by deputies Catalin Tenita (REPER) and Diana Stoica (USR) can reach the vote in the Chamber of Deputies, the decision-making chamber in this case.
The draft law for the modification and completion of Law no. 115/2015 for the election of local public administration authorities and Law 208/2015 regarding the election of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies was adopted by the Senate, the Chamber of Deputies being the decision-making body.
