Romania will be able to submit, in the first three months of 2025, payment applications worth EUR 1.3 billion, an amount to be reimbursed by the European Commission, Romania’s Minister of European Investment and Projects Marcel Bolos announced on Tuesday.
„Romania is speeding up the absorption of European funds: EUR 1.3 billion euros under payment applications submitted in the first months of the year. Today, we had a working meeting with the people who bear the brunt – the heads of the managing authorities of the Ministry of European Investment and Projects and their teams – for a detailed analysis of the latest developments in the implementation of programmes related to the Cohesion Policy 2021-2027. We have positive signals. In the first three months of the year, we manage to submit payment applications worth 1.3 billion euros, an amount to be reimbursed by the European Commission,” the minister wrote in a social media post.
He added that each programme is carefully monitored and there is mobilisation to speed up all stages of the process: from planning and launching calls, to evaluating projects, contracting and requesting reimbursement for the amounts spent.
