Industrial production prices, up by 4% year-on-year in February

Total industrial production prices (domestic and foreign markets) increased by 4% in February 2025, compared to February 2024, and increased by 3.6% compared to January 2025, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics, published on Wednesday.

At the domestic market level, the industrial production price index registered an increase of 4.82% in February 2025 compared to the previous month and 3.94%, compared to February of the previous year.

Regarding the external market, in February compared to the previous month, industrial production prices were higher by 0.45%, and compared to the same month of the previous year, there was an increase of 4.29%.

By major industrial groups, in February 2025, compared to February 2024, increases in industrial production prices were recorded in: capital goods industry (+4.06%), consumer goods industry (5.40%), durable goods industry (+2.74%), intermediate goods industry (+2.05%) and in the energy industry (5.04%).

Compared to the reference period, INS data reveal that, by activity section, prices increased in water distribution, sanitation, waste management, decontamination activities (+9.99%), in manufacturing (2.37%) and in production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning (8.46%). On the other hand, decreases were recorded in the extractive industry (-0.01%).
