The number of people drawing a special pension in Romania in March 2025 was standing at 11,602, down 24 from the previous month, according to data centralised by the National State Pension House (CNPP).
As many as 5,584, of them were drawing a special pension under Law 303/2022 on prosecutors and judges, with the highest average special pension in this case standing at RON 25,210.
According to CNPP, drawing a special pension under Law 216/2015 on special pensions to the members of the diplomatic and consular corps of Romania in March 2025 were 804 people. The average pension was RON 6,943.
Under Law 215/2015 amending and supplementing Law 7/2006 on parliamentary civil servants, 884 retirees were drawing special pensions, with the average pension amounting to RON 6,149.
Drawing a special pension under Law 83/2015 supplementing Law 223/2007 on Romania’s civil aviation professionals were 1,371 pensioners, with the average pension amounting to RON 13,009.
There were also 677 Court of Auditors retirees drawing a special pension, which averaged at RON 10,153.
Also, 2,282 pensioners were drawing special state pensions under Law 130/2015 supplementing Law 567/2004 on specialist auxiliary staff of courts and prosecutors’ offices, with the average pension being standing at RON 6,742. (EUR 1 = RON 4.97)
