The IT&C sector in Romania continues to grow and become an essential pillar of the national economy, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said in a message sent on Tuesday at the Digital Innovation Summit Bucharest, through state advisor with the Prime Minister’s Chancellery Bogdan Dumea.
According to a Government release, in his message, the Ciolacu stressed that the digitisation of public administration in Romania is essential for reducing bureaucracy and increasing transparency in the state’s relationship with citizens.
„Digital platforms not only simplify these interactions but also contribute to the modernisation and efficiency of public services, a process supported by European investments in the area,” said Ciolacu.
The prime minister conveyed to the summit participants that Romania’s IT&C sector continues to grow and become an essential pillar of the national economy.
„We are investing massively in cutting-edge technologies – semiconductors, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and green energy. We are developing specialist centres at universities and tech start-ups because Romania must become a regional innovation hub. These investments attract young entrepreneurs and generate well-paid jobs,” said the Prime Minister.
Additionally, the head of the Executive reiterated the Government’s commitment to support companies investing in innovation through tax incentives and grants for researchers.
In conclusion, a call was made for collaboration among all actors involved in the digitisation process: „Romania’s digital transformation can only happen through collaboration. Entrepreneurs, authorities, universities, and civil society must work together to build a modern and competitive country. I invite you to approach digitisation and innovation as an opportunity for rapid and sustainable development,” the message from the prime minister conveyed.
