PresidentialElections2025/Daraban: Romania’s Chamber of Commerce rejected from dialogue during this interim period

Published on

The Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR) was rejected from dialogue, during this interim period, while the foreign chambers operating in Romania and some NGOs were not, the president of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR), Mihai Daraban, stated on Tuesday, during an electoral debate on economic issues, organized at the CCIR headquarters.

He mentioned that the institution he leads supported political decision-makers „as much as it could.”

„I think I have talked enough about the Chamber of Commerce, but I really wanted them to know our role in society and how over time we have supported political decision-makers as much as we could. We are truly a brand that exists all over the world. We have been around for 161 years. Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza, on September 30, 1864, decided to establish the Romanian Chamber of Commerce,” mentioned the president of the CCIR.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) is organizing, on Tuesday, at the institution’s headquarters, an electoral debate on economic topics, to which the two candidates for the position of president of Romania, George Simion and Nicusor Dan, have been invited to participate. Only the leader of AUR (Alliance for the Union of Romanians) has confirmed his participation in the debate.
