Senate President Ilie Bolojan met on Tuesday with Michael Dickerson, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim at the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest, the talks focusing on strengthening the Strategic Partnership between the United States and Romania, with an emphasis on defence cooperation and the promotion of democratic values shared by the two countries.

According to a Senate press release sent to AGERPRES, during the meeting, Ilie Bolojan emphasized the importance of the rapid formation of a stable government, necessary to maintaining the confidence of international partners and investors, the two officials agreeing to cultvate an active institutional dialogue and work together to strengthen bilateral relations in the context of security challenges in the region and globally.

At the same time, the president of the Senate said that the strategic partnership with the US remains a priority for Romania, along with the commitments undertaken within the European Union.
