A nation never forgets its heroes, said on Thursday Senate President Ilie Bolojan, who added that the memory of those who paid with their lives for the ideals of freedom, faith and dignity of the Romanian people must be honoured with gratitude.

Today, on Ascension Day, we honour with gratitude the memory of those who paid with their lives the ideals of freedom, faith and dignity of the Romanian people. Let us keep alive the flame of gratitude and bow before their sacrifice. Without them, we would not be what we are today. Eternal glory to Romania’s heroes!,” Bolojan wrote on Facebook.
