Published on

Romania’s National Commission for the Control of Nuclear Activities (CNCAN) is holding today the official launch of the ConvEx-3 (2025) international exercise, which will take place between June 24 and 25.

The ConvEx-3 exercise is organised under the aegis of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and aims to test and improve national and international response in the event of a major nuclear incident, as well as to strengthen cooperation between authorities, institutions and participating nations.

According to the organiser of the event, Romania, through CNCAN and the Emergency Management Department (DSU), hosts this large-scale exercise, and the official launch is a key moment of information and open dialogue with the media.

Delivering speeches at the event will be Cristina Traila from the General Secretariat of the Romanian government; Cantemir Ciurea Ercau – chairman of CNCAN; Cosmin Ghita – general director of Nuclearelectrica, and Romeo Urjan – director of the Cernavoda nuclear-power plant.
