The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) expresses its concern regarding the escalation of the security situation in the Middle East and advocates for diplomatic efforts to find a verifiable negotiated solution regarding the Iranian nuclear programme.

„We express our deep concern regarding the escalation of the security situation in the Middle East. Diplomatic efforts are imperative to prevent further escalation and to ensure a verifiable negotiated solution regarding the Iranian nuclear programme, based on the principle of non-proliferation,” reads a press release of the MAE sent on Sunday to AGERPRES

The MAE reiterates „Israel’s right to defend itself and protect its people” and believes that „regional security requires active diplomatic engagements.”

„At the same time, we believe that regional security requires active diplomatic engagements. Romania will continue to collaborate with its partners and allies to contribute together to sustainable regional stability. Throughout the affected region, we are making efforts to ensure the security of Romanian citizens,” the MAE reports.
