Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Sorin Grindeanu, elected to the office on Tuesday, said that he will know how to keep the balance between the power and the opposition.

„I want to thank my colleagues for their trust. (…) I can assure you that I will know how to keep the balance between the power and the opposition, which is extremely important in the Romanian Parliament. We will have a tenure full of challenges in the Chamber of Deputies as well, as will certainly be the case with the mandates of the Senate and the Bolojan Cabinet inaugurated yesterday,” Grindeanu said at the Palace of Parliament after being elected to the office.

He added that he called on lawmaker to try to come up with initiatives that have budgetary coverage.

„Let’s try to think about the step related to this aspect, which is an important component now,” he said.
