Bucharest stocks open lower

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) opened Thursday’s trading session with declines across most indices, with a turnover of 4.9 million lei (approximately 971,601 euros) recorded after the first 30 minutes of trading.

The main BET index, which reflects the performance of the 20 most liquid companies, registered a 0.37% decrease, while the BET-Plus index, which tracks the 43 most liquid shares on the BVB, saw a 0.34% drop.

Likewise, the extended blue-chip index BET-XT, which includes the 25 most traded stocks, fell 0.39%, and the BET-BK index, the benchmark for investment fund returns, depreciated 0.17%.

The BET-FI index, which tracks the performance of the Financial Investment Companies (SIFs), recorded a 0.86% decline, while the BET-NG index, covering the 10 companies in the energy and utilities sectors, dropped 0.16%.

The BET AeRO index, which includes 20 representative companies from the AeRO market (dedicated to SMEs and startups), was up 0.45%.

According to BVB data, the biggest share price increases were posted by: Globinvest Energy & Financials Open-Ended Investment Fund ETF (+6.02%), Green Tech International (+3.83%) and Societatea de Constructii Napoca (+3.36%).

On the other hand, declines were recorded by: Condmag (-6.67%), Electrocontact Industrial Group (-3.85%) and Bermas (-2.31%).
