Another 35 people, Romanian citizens and first-degree family members, were evacuated from the State of Israel and returned safely to Romania, on Thursday evening, aboard a military aircraft.

The flight was carried out with the support of the Ministry of National Defense, with a C-27J Spartan aircraft belonging to the Romanian Air Force, according to a press release sent on Thursday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE).

„Following the complex efforts of the Romanian authorities under the coordination of the Romanian Government, through the Romanian Embassy in Tel Aviv, the Romanian Consulate General in Haifa and the Romanian Representative Office in Ramallah, another 35 people, Romanian citizens and first-degree family members, were evacuated from the State of Israel and returned safely to Romania, on the evening of Thursday, June 26, 2025, aboard a military aircraft,” the MAE informs.

Throughout this journey, the Romanian citizens were supported by representatives of the Romanian Embassy in Tel Aviv, the Romanian Consulate General in Haifa and the Romanian Representative Office in Ramallah, as well as by a mobile consular team of the MAE.

„The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Romanian Embassy in Tel Aviv, the Romanian Consulate General in Haifa and the Romanian Representative Office in Ramallah, maintains contact with the competent authorities and with the Romanian citizens who have notified their presence in the State of Israel, in order to identify the best solutions for their return to the country, under safe conditions, depending on the evolution of the situation on the ground,” the release said.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Toiu, thanked those who made the series of assisted evacuations and repatriations possible.

„The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its gratitude to the counterparts in the region who facilitated these evacuation operations. I would also like to thank the teams from the Romanian Embassies and Consular Offices in the region, the colleagues from the MAE Task Force, but also those from the mobile consular teams for an exemplary mobilization in the service of Romanian citizens in danger or difficult situations. At the same time, I thank the Ministry of National Defense and especially the teams from the 90th Military Transport Base and the crews of the Romanian Air Force aircraft that operated these flights”, said Minister Oana Toiu, quoted in the press release.

The MAE mentions that the alert level for the State of Israel has been raised, namely level 8 out of 9 „Avoid any travel!”.

The travel warning can be consulted on the website: https://www.mae.ro/travel-alerts/2938.

The MAE also reiterates the recommendations addressed to Romanian citizens in the current context (https://www.mae.ro/node/66883, https://www.mae.ro/node/66881), as well as the need to register presence in the State of Israel and/or the Islamic Republic of Iran (https://www.mae.ro/node/66890).
