PM Bolojan says subsidies for political parties to be reduced at budget rectification

Published on

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced on Wednesday that budget subsidies for political parties will be reduced through the budget rectification that will be made in the coming period.

The prime minister presented the measures in the fiscal package to reduce the deficit at a press conference at the Victoria Palace.

He was asked whether budget subsidies for parties would also be reduced.

„Through the budget rectification that will be made in the coming period. You will see this measure too, because everyone must contribute to this effort,” said Bolojan.

The prime minister mentioned that subsidies for political parties have decreased this year.

„I will propose a reduction in subsidies for political parties. They have decreased significantly compared to last year, but I believe that political parties and all those who earn good incomes from state administration and state-owned companies must be part of this effort, because they stood to gain quite a lot for many years. And this cannot continue,” said the prime minister.
