The Ministry of National Defense (MApN) announced that on Tuesday it will organize military ceremonies in numerous garrisons across the country to celebrate Romania’s National Anthem Day.
According to a press release sent by the MApN to AGERPRES on Monday, a ceremony will take place in Bucharest at 10:00 a.m. in Piata Tricolorului/Flag Square located in front of the National Military Circle Palace. The ceremony program includes a religious service and a concert performed by the Representative Band of the Ministry of National Defense.
The organizers are the Ministry of National Defense, the Prefecture of the Capital, and the Bucharest City Hall.
Romania’s National Anthem Day was proclaimed by Law 99/1998 and is celebrated every year on July 29. „Desteapta-te, romane!” („Awaken Thee, Romanian!” was composed by Anton Pann, and the lyrics were written by poet Andrei Muresanu.
