The diaspora represents a resource for the country, the contribution of Romanian specialists being fundamental, not only internationally but also domestically, education and research minister Daniel David stated on Friday, in Iasi, within the opening of the Conference of Romanian Economists from Abroad.
„The Romanian diaspora, in general, and particularly the academic one in this context, is a resource for the country, this is why, bidirectional, ‘win-win’ mechanisms must be developed, through which we can support each other. Now, when international socio-economic institutions are in the process of redefining themselves, the contribution of Romanian specialists is fundamental not only internationally but also for the country,” David emphasised, according to a press release published on the website of the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC).
Daniel David stated that he is awaiting the conclusions of the conference, which could serve as a document to guide public policies in the country, in general, and in education and research, in particular.
The 11th edition of the Conference of Romanian Economists from Abroad took place between July 30 and August 1 in Iasi, being organized by „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University, in collaboration with the National Bank of Romania and Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. It was attended by top specialists from abroad and Romania.
