Citizens who wish to pay tribute to the memory of former President Ion Iliescu can do so on Wednesday, between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM, when they will have access to the Unity Hall at Cotroceni Palace, where the coffin is laid to rest.
Public access will be via the Cotroceni Palace Registry Entrance, on Geniului Boulevard (Lion Statue Area), and exit via the Museum Gate on Cotroceni Road.
Children under 14 years of age will not have access.
Flowers and/or candles can only be placed in the specially arranged space in front of Cotroceni Palace, on the sidewalk on Geniului Boulevard, and not inside the Cotroceni Palace building.
Those who will come to Cotroceni Palace must wear a sober, funeral-style outfit, in dark colors.
To gain access to the „Cotroceni Palace” Complex, the public must undergo an individual security check and baggage check, at the request of security personnel.
Talking on the phone, taking photos, and filming are strictly prohibited, out of respect for the solemnity of the moment.
At the same time, access with dangerous objects, weapons, large backpacks, suitcases or large luggage or other objects that may hinder access and affect the safety of visitors is prohibited.
The use of cameras, mobile phones or other electronic devices is prohibited.
People are advised not to bring personal items (volumes, letters, illustrations, documents or photographs).
