Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, in a working meeting with representatives of the 36 institutions subordinated to the Government, requested them to submit their reorganization proposals, efficiency improvement and performance indicators by August 22, with the Executive set to follow up with a legislative package regarding the reorganization of these structures by the end of August.
According to a Government release, the Prime Minister underscored that the Government will implement three main directions on optimizing Romania’s budget: reducing operating expenses, including the personnel costs, increasing efficiency of budget revenue collection and prioritizing investments.
„Reducing operating expenses means each institution must determine the necessary personnel and project indicators, so that we can provide better services to the citizens. We are working on a regulatory package which stipulates cutting personnel costs in both local and central administration,” Ilie Bolojan stated, as quoted in the release.
In this context, the Prime Minister requested his dialogue partners to „make a proper calculation.”
„People must remain in their positions based on two criteria: performance and responsibility,” Bolojan showed.
Moreover, the PM asked the coordinators of the 36 institutions to analyse the personnel salary solutions, in the context in which, in some institutions a series of unjustified bonuses are implemented and this practice must be corrected.
Furthermore, he requested the institutions to analyze the integration of digitalization solutions in order to become more efficient, taking into account that individual solutions lead to service isolation and increased costs.
The meeting was also attended by Vice Prime Minister Marian Neacsu, Secretary General of the Government Radu Oprea and Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister Mihai Jurca.
