Foreign Affairs Minister Oana Toiu is participating on Friday and Saturday in Copenhagen in the informal meeting of the EU foreign affairs ministers (Gymnich), the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) informed.
According to the quoted source, the discussions will focus on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, with an emphasis on ensuring the support for Ukraine, the coordination of the EU member states’ actions to increase pressure on Moscow, as well as the use of Russia’s frozen assets.
Furthermore, the security developments in the Middle East and the humanitarian situation in Gaza shall also be tackled at the informal meeting.
The ministers will exchange views regarding the working methods in the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), aiming to ensure an enhanced efficiency of the decision-making process.
The meeting will be co-chaired by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas and by Denmark’s Foreign Affairs Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen, in the context of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the MAE mentioned.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Romania’s Foreign Affairs Minister will also carry out bilateral meetings with European partners, and the dignitary’s schedule also includes a meeting with members of the Romanian community in Denmark.
