At the instruction of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the ambassador of the Russian Federation to Bucharest was summoned on Saturday to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) following the violation of Romania’s airspace by a Russian drone on September 13, 2025, the ministry said in a press release.

The Romanian side conveyed a strong protest against this unacceptable and irresponsible act, which represents a violation of Romania’s sovereignty, according to the cited source.

„Such recurrent situations lead to the escalation and amplification of threats to regional security. The Russian side was requested to immediately take all necessary measures to prevent future violations of Romania’s airspace.
