Industry turnover increased by 3.8% in first seven months

Industrial turnover increased in nominal terms, overall, by 3.8% in the first seven months of the year, due to the growth of the extractive industry (+16.8%) and the manufacturing industry (+3.3%), according to data from the National Institute of Statistics, published on Wednesday.

By major industrial groups, compared to the same period last year, increases were recorded in the durable goods industry (+14.4%), the capital goods industry (+5.5%), the consumer goods industry (+4.6%) and the intermediate goods industry (+3.3%). The energy industry decreased by 9.8%.

In July, industrial business, in nominal terms, increased by 3.6% compared to the previous month, due to the growth recorded in the manufacturing industry by 3.9%. The extractive industry decreased by 4.6%. In the major industrial groups, increases were recorded: the intermediate goods industry (+6.1%), the durable goods industry (+5.9%), the consumer goods industry (+3.9%), the energy industry (+1.8%) and the capital goods industry (+1%).

Compared to July 2024, the turnover in industry increased, in nominal terms, by 7.6% due to the growth recorded in the extractive industry (+9.1%) and in the manufacturing industry (+7.5%). By major industrial groups, increases were recorded: the durable goods industry (+15.2%), the capital goods industry (+10.4%), the intermediate goods industry (+9.6%) and the consumer goods industry (+3.6%).
