Gov’t Spokesperson: No discussion at Government level on organizing partial local elections

Published on

Spokesperson for the Government Ioana Dogioiu stated on Thursday that she is not aware of any discussion at the Executive level regarding the organization of partial local elections, mentioning that the response lies at the governing coalition.

In a news conference, she was asked what is happening with the organization of partial local elections for the Bucharest City Hall and the Buzau County Council.

„There have been no discussion at the Government level, the answer is not with me, it’s at the coalition level,” Dogioiu stated at the Victoria Palace.

Asked further on the topic with the mention that there are legal provisions in force which the Executive should have observed and issued a Government decision for the organization of partial local elections, Ioana Dogioiu responded: „We have all seen in the public space a series of political statements of political leaders regarding this topic. All I can say is that, beyond the public information we all have, no decision has been made at the Government level.” AGERPRES
