Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan announced on Friday that he submitted to the Government the memorandum regarding the issue of energy bills and prices which is set to be analyzed in the Supreme Council for National Defence (CSAT).
Minister Ivan was asked within a news conference, at the central headquarters of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), when the CSAT is set to discuss the issue of energy bills and prices, as he himself had proposed.
„I had a constructive discussion with Romania’s President on this subject and on main topics, including in terms of solutions. Today, I submitted the draft memorandum proposal to Romania’s Government because procedurally Romania’s Prime Minister proposes that this memorandum be included on the CSAT agenda. Now, at this time, it is at the stage of technical validation procedures, signatures, with some documents being confidential and others open to the public,” the Minister said.
According to him, the document includes a „very clear” analysis of the manner in which Romania looks today in terms of energy.
„There are included very clear technical data and it presents the scenarios and risks we face if we do not intervene in a clear manner over the investments projects which are delayed because of various legislative hurdles. (…) I want this things to be very clear regarding major investments and strategic projects, to have other conditions for the approval of projects, from the production to the transmission of electricity and gas, in order to reduce the implementation times of such projects,” Bogdan Ivan explained.
