The president of S.O.S. Romania, MEP Diana Iovanovici-Sosoaca, said on Tuesday that the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office addressed to the European Parliament to lift her immunity represents „an attempted political execution”.
„Today we are witnessing yet another attempted political execution orchestrated by the corrupt system that trembles in the face of the truth. The Prosecutor General’s Office is demanding the lifting of my immunity as a MEP. Why? Out of fear. Because I called things by their proper names, because I defended the Romanian people and denounced the globalist dictatorship. I know, the truth is inconvenient. I am not guilty of any of the false accusations thrown into the public space. I have only spoken the truth that others want to hide. When you fight for sovereignty, freedom and justice, you are hunted, stigmatized and threatened,” Iovanovici-Sosoaca said in a press release on Tuesday.
According to her, „immunity is not a privilege,” and the request to lift it represents „the suppression of the vote of hundreds of thousands of Romanians.”
„Parliamentary immunity exists so that the voice of the people is not silenced. Lifting it at the request of prosecutors subject to foreign interests means nothing more than suppressing the vote of hundreds of thousands of Romanians who sent me to the European Parliament. Justice, not lynching. If there is real evidence – let them show it! Let everything be transparent, in front of the Romanian people and the entire world. I do not accept political trials, conducted on the model of the 1950s, when patriots were thrown into prisons because they loved Romania. An attack on sovereignty. All these attacks are not against me as a person, but against the sovereignist movement, against the current of national reawakening that scares the globalist system, against Romanians”, added Iovanovici-Sosoaca.
The president of S.O.S. Romania added that he is fighting „for Romanians and their children”.
The Prosecutor General’s Office has asked the European Parliament to lift the immunity of MEP Diana Sosoaca for committing several crimes, including legionary propaganda.
Diana Iovanovici-Sosoaca was summoned to the Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday, but did not appear for hearings. AGERPRES
