Interim chairman of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) Sorin Grindeanu on Monday said the results of Sunday’s vote show that the Republic of Moldova demonstrated the necessary maturity to avoid falling into the trap of populism, isolationism and regress.
‘Congratulations to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova who chose to continue on the European path! With over 50% of the vote, PAS will be able to form a government focused on democratic values, development, and a better standard of living for its citizens. Yesterday’s election results show that the Republic of Moldova had the maturity to avoid the trap of populism, isolationism and regress,’ Grindeanu wrote on Facebook.
He emphasised that the Republic of Moldova’s place ‘is in the great European family.’
‘That is why we hope the accession negotiations will be concluded by the end of 2028,’ Grindeanu added. AGERPRES
