PM Bolojan congratulates Moldovan citizens for turnout: Moldova’s place is in the great European family

Published on

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan sent a message of congratulations to Moldovan voters for their turnout in Sunday’s parliamentary elections and to the authorities in Chisinau for the „exemplary” manner in which the ballot was organised, reiterating that the Republic of Moldova’s place is „in the great European family.”

„I wholeheartedly congratulate the citizens of the Republic of Moldova for their exemplary mobilisation in yesterday’s parliamentary elections and for voting in a European direction. I also want to extend special congratulations to the authorities of the Republic of Moldova for the exemplary way in which they organised the elections and for how they withstood a range of pressures aimed at undermining the will of the people. In the end, as is the case in genuine democracies, it was the people’s vote that made the difference,” Bolojan wrote on Facebook on Monday.

He emphasised that the Republic of Moldova’s place is „in the great European family.” „Personally, as well as on behalf of Romania’s Government, we will stand by the Republic of Moldova on this path. Congratulations, Republic of Moldova!,” Ilie Bolojan said.
