EU: Military aid for Ukraine intensifies

Published on

The European Union is stepping up its military aid for Ukraine by launching on Monday a mission to train 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers on its territory and a new tranche of 500 million euros for the supply of weapons, according to AFP, Agerpres reads.

„It’s a big premiere for the EU. I have never carried out a mission of this magnitude,” commented an European official.

The foreign ministers of the 27 member countries will approve these two decisions on Monday, during a meeting in Luxembourg, and the mission will be immediately operational, said a diplomatic source.

„A seven-year budget was spent in seven months,” a senior European official pointed out.
