Published on

The application that reads residence data from the new electronic identity card (CEI) – RoCEIReader – is available as of Monday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) announced.

According to a press release from the Ministry, this digital tool is described as „secure,” allowing for the quick reading of data from the CEI, including the residence address stored on the chip.

The application is available for free on Google Play, and will soon be available in the App Store as well.

‘Public authorities and private institutions can use the app for the fast and secure verification of residence addresses, eliminating bureaucracy and reducing processing times for applications. RoCEIReader complies with the highest standards of cybersecurity, ensuring full protection of personal data,’ the Ministry explained.
