Number of deregistered companies, up almost 10% in first eight months of 2022, in Romania

The number of deregistered companies at national level increased by 9.62% in the first eight months of 2022, compared to the same period last year, to 46,304, according to the statistics of the National Trade Register Office (ONRC), Agerpres reads.

By business, the highest number of deregistrations was recorded in wholesale and retail trade, motor vehicle and motorcycle repair – 12,531 (plus 8.24% compared to January-August 2021), construction – 4,202 (plus 7.03%), professional, scientific and technical activities – 3,857 (plus 8.65%) and the manufacturing industry 3,752 (plus 10.81%).

In August 2022, 5,297 company deregistrations were recorded, most in Bucharest (921) and in the counties of Cluj (251), Constanta (243), Ilfov (210) and Timis (205).
