INS: Industrial production prices, up by 3.2% in August

Industrial production prices (domestic and foreign markets) increased by 3.2% in August of this year compared to the same period in 2024, according to data published on Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

In contrast, compared to July 2025, industrial production prices in August decreased by 0.6%.

According to official statistics, from one year to the next, depending on the industrial production price index, increases were recorded as follows: the current goods industry – by 6.14%, the durable goods industry – by 4.38%, the intermediate goods industry – by 4.32%, the capital goods industry – by 2.44% and the energy industry (+1.27%).

Also, on the total market (domestic and foreign), INS data reveal that, in August of the current year, compared to August 2024, production prices in the extractive industry increased by 3.21%, those in the manufacturing industry increased by 3.32%, while the production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning recorded a jump of 2.89%, and in water distribution – sanitation, waste management, decontamination activities, an increase of 10.82% was recorded.

The INS specifies that the data for July 2025 are rectified, and those for August 2025 are provisional.AGERPRES
