HealthMin: Medical caravans expansion, natural step in right direction

Published on

The expansion of the network of medical caravans and the reimbursement of the services they provide through the National Health Insurance House (CNAS) represent the next natural step in the right direction, said Minister of Health Alexandru Rogobete.

‘More precisely, mobile medical units for prevention and screening of serious diseases will be organised by hospitals, in partnership with local associations and organisations. From the budget of the National Health Insurance Fund, day hospitalisation services, medical consultations, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic procedures will be reimbursed. These services will be provided by specialist doctors through mobile medical assistance, based on contractual arrangements between hospitals and the health insurance houses,’ the minister wrote on Facebook.

Alexandru Rogobete said that the network of mobile units (mobile medical clinics) for oncological screening will also be expanded, particularly in areas where the population lacks access to healthcare services. These medical investigations are intended for both insured and uninsured patients, regardless of their place of residence.

‘By developing these types of services, we are ensuring access to healthcare for all Romanians, regardless of where they live or their financial situation. Because that is what is fair and right,’ the minister of Health added. AGERPRES
