Nine nonprofit organisations will implement education and health projects worth a total of RON 1.5 million, funded by the OMV Petrom Foundation under the „Today. Together.” grant programme.
„The winning projects of the first edition of the ‘Today. Together’ fund support early health, help reduce infant mortality, increase participation in early education in disadvantaged areas, and promote biodiversity conservation. The Humanitarian Association Renaitre Romania, the Romanian Association for Long-Term Hospitalised Newborns, ParentIS Association, and Sense International Romania Foundation are supported for early health projects. Bookisit, Grow and Know, and eematico associations have been selected to develop early education projects in vulnerable communities. Padurea Copiilor Association and ADEPT Transylvania Foundation are supported to implement programmes in biodiversity conservation,” the Foundation said in a press release sent to Agerpres on Tuesday.
According to the release, the jury evaluating applications included representatives from civil society, business, and the media: Adelina Dabu (Concordia Employers’ Confederation), Luiza Domnisoru (Revolut Bank), Oana Zamfir (Digi FM), Alina Kasprovschi (Bucharest Community Foundation), and Amalia Fodor (OMV Petrom Foundation).
The winning projects of the first edition of the „Today. Together.” fund are: Stories That Teach Us – Bookisit Association; Growing with Purpose – Grow and Know Association; Little Explorers – eematico Association; Supporting Mothers – Humanitarian Association Renaitre Romania; The Power of Hugs in Therapy – Romanian Association for Long-Term Hospitalised Newborns; Caravan of Small Steps – ParentIS Association; For Every Child, Together – Sense International Romania Foundation; Biodiversity Through Urban Meadows – Padurea Copiilor Association; Angofa, Nature and Community – ADEPT Transylvania Foundation.
All winning projects will be implemented in Bucharest and the counties of Brasov, Botosani, Calarasi, Galati, Hunedoara, Iasi, Mures, Olt, Prahova, and Sibiu.
The organisers noted that 98 nonprofit organisations applied for funding in the first edition of the programme, with preliminary selection and eligibility verification conducted by the OMV Petrom Foundation in partnership with the Foundation for the Development of Civil Society.
Launched in 2022, the OMV Petrom Foundation develops programmes and supports long-term investments in Romania for disadvantaged communities in three key areas: early education, early health, and biodiversity. AGERPRES
