The number of acute respiratory infection cases – clinical flu, acute upper respiratory tract infections and pneumonia – in Romania for the week November 3 – 9 is standing at 65,081, down 2.3% from the previous week, and there were also six more confirmed influenza deaths, the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) reported on Thursday.
The number is down 4.5% from the previous week (68,162) and down 20.3% from the same week of the previous season (81,671). The variation in addition to the calculated average of 78,231 cases in the last five seasons, excluding pandemic seasons, was 16.8%.
According to INSP, 302 cases of clinical influenza were reported at national level in the same period, as against 208 cases in the same week of the previous season.
The following was also reported: 18 laboratory-confirmed cases of influenza, including 13 cases of unsubtyped influenza A virus, one case of influenza AH3 virus, one case of influenza AH1 virus and three cases of influenza B virus.
As of November 9, 963,452 people in Romania vaccinated against influenza were recorded in the National Electronic Vaccination Register (RENV). AGERPRES
