The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued a Code Yellow warning for strong winds, valid until Tuesday morning in Banat, Crisana, western Transylvania and Maramures, as well as a weather advisory for cold conditions, mixed precipitation and wind intensification in most regions, in force until Thursday morning.
According to the specialist forecast, from 17 November at noon to 18 November at 6 am there will be a Code Yellow warning for wind intensification, initially in Banat and Crisana and towards the evening and overnight also in western Transylvania and Maramures, with speeds of 50 to 60 km per hour and isolated speeds of 70 km per hour. In mountain areas wind speeds will reach 70 to 90 km per hour and at altitudes above one thousand seven hundred metres gusts will reach 90 to 120 km per hour.
Also, from 17 November at noon to 20 November at 10 am a weather advisory will be in effect for significant rainfall, snow in the mountains, mixed precipitation, wind intensification and cold weather.
On Monday afternoon and evening, 17 November, there will be showers in Banat and Crisana, locally accompanied by lightning, followed by rain across most of the country. Over the entire interval water accumulations of 20 to 25 litres per square metre and isolated amounts of more than 30 to 40 litres per square metre are expected.
On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, 18 to 19 November, it will snow throughout the mountain area where a snow layer will form and in the lower areas of the centre and east there will be mixed precipitation. Locally and temporarily the wind will intensify across most of the country with gusts generally of 40 to 60 km per hour.
On Tuesday, 18 November, the weather will cool significantly in the west, north, centre and north east of the country and on Wednesday, 19 November, in the rest of the territory as well. AGERPRES
