No 112 calls following last night’s Russian attacks on Ukraine

No one living in the north of Tulcea county, on the European Union border with Ukraine, called the 112 emergency number to ask for clarifications about the noise produced by Russia’s attacks on the neighbouring country, as adults have become used to the situation, though they worry about children.

The Delta Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU) announced on Wednesday morning that the Inspectorate General for Emergency Situations (IGSU) sent at 00:20 a Ro-Alert message to the population in the northern area of Tulcea county after being informed by the Air Force General Staff, which had identified an aerial target near the border with Ukraine.

„The message sent to the population was one of information and warning about the possibility of objects falling from the airspace and people were advised to adopt protection and sheltering measures if the situation required it. No negative incidents were reported and no calls were registered at the 112 emergency number,” the ISU Delta release stated.

The absence of phone calls to the 112 emergency number can be explained by the fact that the people living in the villages in the northern area of the county have grown used to the alarms that sound frequently in Ukrainian localities and to the noise of explosions. However, some adults worry about the children.

Several military aircraft monitored, on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the European airspace, tracking a drone that flew over both an area of the Republic of Moldova and the Ukrainian airspace, against the backdrop of a new Russian attack on Ukraine, according to a Ministry of National Defence (MApN) release.

„No cases of any aircraft vehicle impacting the ground have been reported. Teams of specialists are ready to begin searches on the ground,” the MApN release mentioned. AGERPRES
