Car traffic in the area of the Departures and Arrivals Terminals of the Henri Coanda International Airport in Bucharest has been reorganized starting Monday, following the extension of works at the future „Aeroport Otopeni” metro station, informs the Bucharest National Airports Company (CNAB).
„Due to the expansion of the work area at the future „Aeroport Otopeni” metro station, starting Monday, December 8, 2024, traffic flows for car access from DN1 to the Departures and Arrivals terminals of Henri Coanda Bucharest International Airport have been reconfigured. Car flows in front of the airport have been reorganized on new arteries, arranged by the metro works contractor, including by decommissioning some areas of the public passenger parking lot,” the press release reads.
Thus, stopping and parking of passenger vehicles and public transport vehicles on the lane in front of the Departures Terminal can no longer be permitted.
„To minimize passenger discomfort, special disembarkation flows have been created for travelers arriving at the airport by public transportation, private vehicles or taxis. The passenger disembarkation area is located in the parking lot in front of the Departures Terminal,” the press release states.
According to CNAB, coaches and minibuses will exclusively use the „Arrivals” Terminal overpass.
At the same time, the parking lot for coaches and minibuses, located at the base of the control tower (next to the Departures Terminal), was closed.
„For the safety of traffic in front of the airport, we ask drivers to respect the established traffic restrictions and temporary road signs. Access is properly signposted, and authorized personnel support the direction of vehicles,” the statement added.
CNAB representatives recommend that passengers „allow additional time for travel, given the temporary changes to traffic flows in front of the airport, instituted as a result of works at the future metro station.”AGERPRES
