Burduja: I believe that every party that is in a coalition must decide whether it is in a coalition or in opposition

PNL deputy Sebastian Burduja declared on Wednesday that each party in the governing coalition must decide whether it is in coalition or in opposition.

Sebastian Burduja was asked if the current governing coalition is heading towards a political crisis, given that PSD representatives have announced that they are entering a stage of internal analysis and if the prime minister does not accept their proposals, they could decide to leave the government.

„It’s not the first time we hear such messages from a coalition party. From my point of view, such messages do no good. I believe that every party in the coalition must decide whether it is in the coalition or in opposition. If it is in government, then it supports or does not support the measures, but if it is in government, it is obliged to support them. Returning to the zero objective that we must have, namely, regaining the trust of Romanians, it is vital that this discussion be held, I believe, in a private setting, between the members of the coalition, and not in public rhetoric,” Burduja said, in Parliament.

He added that he understands the „somewhat selfish political goal” of the social democrats.

„We are in government, but there are unpopular measures, but in fact we do not support them. That’s why I say, I don’t think this ambivalence is good for Romanian democracy and without giving advice to the PSD, but I don’t think it’s good for the Social Democratic Party either. What do they gain from this? Because finally they are in government, so they have to assume these measures that come after years in which Romania spent much more than it could afford. This is the reality and therefore it would be honest and I believe for the good of Romania and the act of governance to have these discussions within the coalition,” the PNL deputy specified.AGERPRES
